
The goal of this project is to determine how a decision making system can provide safe autonomous operations.
This includes augmenting the capabilities of the remote operator so that the UAV behaves in a sensible and safe fashion in the presence of normal and exceptional circumstances. This will reduce the workload of the remote operator so s/he can focus on the top level mission goals while the UAS performs the tactical tasks, resulting in a higher UAS to operator ratio so that the full potential economic benefit can be realised.
